Hello, I’m Samantha Kidd.

I’m sixteen years old, living in London, England. I’m a Sixth Form Student studying Chemistry, Biology, History and Psychology.

I’m an odd sort of person. I openly admit I’m a bit of an introvert, I love silence, and I’ve never been overtly keen on being around people. That’s just me, and it’s how I’ve always been. I openly admit that I actually love School. A statement that two, or three years ago you wouldn’t have seen me dead saying; a lot has changed about me, and my life since then though.

Politics has to be my first love. I don’t know how it happened, but since the age of ten, maybe a little younger, I’ve become obsessed. I’m addicted to the news, and I love rambling about the current state of affiars and my ideals. I aim to pursue this as a career during my life; the earlier the better, but I want to explore other avenues too.

Then there is Science. Remember back in the nineties where they had proper children’s TV? Well, at the age of three, if that, I was watching all of them. Science particularly interested me at this point, and I grew up wanting to be a Astronaut, a Physicist, and even a Geoscientist. In a way, I would still love to go into Physics, but into the study of atoms, and energy; but as I don’t agree with of its uses, I don’t know if I could. So instead, I’ve discovered Forensics. I enjoy solving problems, I love Science, and it’s something that is continually evolving. So with luck, I’ll become a Forensic Scientist soon!

I love reading, and in fact it is probably one of my biggest downfalls. If you give me a good book, Classic Fm, and a couple of hours, I’m off. Words have a really powerful effect on me, and I suppose it’s what makes me want to write too. I have an affliction with seeing my thoughts down on a page, somehow everything makes much more sense when I can read it back to myself. I’m a firm believer that reading and writing should be reinstated as priorities into the education system; I’m in the system, and I’ve been through the system, and I know it’s failing. Good literature, and the persuasion to openly write for fun has been lost; and that is a shame.

One day I hope to go into Politics as a career. I want a life, and experience before-hand, but at the same time, I don’t want to be a conked out, older, uninterested and out of touch politician who implements the change that was needed a decade ago. Hopefully I’ll make it, and if I do, I’ll be utterly amazed!

My Projects:

I have been involved in a number of online projects over the past couple of years; here is a brief over-view of some of my activities.

Shizz FM -
My own online radio station, which was aimed at getting unsigned, and unknown artists heard. The radio station ran during the six week School holiday period for two years, and was successful in gathering popularity, and happiness for all. Shizz FM may return in the near future, and aims to expand as a platform for young people to voice their opinions too.

Market Research -
For over three years now I have worked, and continue to work with a variety of Market Research companies aimed at gathering the views of others. This has included the normal questionnaires and the like, but also videos, “vox-pops”, and a number of Blogs.

SixPr -

Sexy Knickers Designs -
The name came from an idea a friend came up with regarding my initials “SK”, ever since March 2007 it stuck. It’s my attempt at Graphic Design, and whilst I’ve never proclaimed any great skills in the field of Art, I enjoy creating things. It’s all about freedom, fun, and creative design with a minimilist feel; however it’s expanding with wherever my imagination takes me.  You can see some of my art, and literary pieces “Here“.
